Produced at the Honda plant in Italy, the 1,000 cc Nakedbike successfully conquers the European market with young and powerful design. Debuted in 2007, CB1000R is fitted with 998 cc engine from the 2007 CBR1000RR Sportbike. It also marks the end of the Hornet 919. Honda has continuously improved, especially the power, the liquid-cooled inline 4-cylinder engine with the displacement of 998 cc and capacity of 125 horsepower.
STRONG STYLE
In Vietnam, the motorcycling lovers always hunt for CB1000R due to compact and powerful design, ease to control and the “super high” quality. Honda CB1000R ABS 2011 has a dimension of 2105 mm (L) x 805 mm (W) x 1095 mm (H). The seat is 825 mm high from the ground, which is not so high for a rider of about 165cm. Its saddle is tapered up front so that the rider is not difficult to change gear or stand at stop.
MODERN LIGHT
The handles are new and made of thick alloy aluminum and yellow coated. The front suspension is also yellow coated. Those parts are ever regarded as “toys” in the previous model that the owners had to spend a lot to order parts overseas for replacement. Honda also uses 7 LEDs for bulb fitted on the headlamp in replace of bulb on the old model. The 17 liter fuel tank is not changed and streamlined back. The rider embraces fuel tank to minimize the wind resistance while bowing down to accelerate. The rear design remains the same, only the rear light is mounted with additional LED inside, lighting up upon braking.
COMFORTABLE FEELING
Riding CB1000R gives riders a comfortable feeling due to the handlebar of the 2011 model is wider, upright, and easy to ride. The engine stably operates in startup mode at 1200 rpm. The melodious exhaust notes and the “cool” exhaust system make so comfortable without being too loud.
The new version is equipped with all-aluminum chassis to reduce weight and increase the ability to accelerate. On the long road of Nguyen Van Linh Boulevard, District 7, Honda CB1000R ABS was tested and the digital clock jumps to 110 km/h when the gearbook is in the second gear. Upon decelerating, the engine growls softly, without being vibrated.
Experiment with ABS at a speed of 60 km/h, we can feel clearly the antilock brake system acts on the fron and rear wheels, the “popping” sound of the ABS works on a small circle, and then the electronic system will continuously adjust the acting force, depending on the speed. Honda CB1000R ABS is fitted with dual 310 mm disc on the front wheel and a single 256 mm disc located in the middle of the rear wheel, creating a balanced brake fork which helps decelerate safely.
“BALANCED LEGS”
The fron tyre with a size of 120/70ZR17 and the rear wheel with width of 180/55ZR17 not only create “ballaced legs”, but also better grip the road surface. Especially the wide and empty corners, the rider can be confident to enter the corner at speed of over 40 km/h smoothly without vibration. In addition, it is easy to observe the CB1000R’s central digital display.
The 2011 Honda CB1000R ABS is in the same segment as the middle-class-size nakedbike such as Kawasaki Z1000 from Japan, or the large displecement motorcycles from Britain - Triumph Speed Triple
