FZ8 is produced with features which are stronger than FZ6, more flexible in the city and speed up on the highway. It is the choice from 800 cc model such as Ducati Monster 796, Triumph Street Triple, etc.

Sitting on Yamaha FZ8 make the rider feel like sitting on FZ1 because the 2011 new model inherits many components and materials from its predecessor, FZ1, from chassis to engine. Yamaha FZ8 looks powerful due to the large 17 liter fuel tank and large headlamps.

QUIET EXHAUST

With the handlebar width of over 600 mm, seat height of 815 mm, same declination of the handlebar (fork) of 25 degrees against the vertical axis, the sitting position on the nakedbike is quite comfortable, even in the long distance travel. Press the starter, engine and exhaust sound relatively melodious. At slow speed, the engine sound is still quiet and only louder upon accelerating.

779 cc engine block inherited from Yamaha FZ1 1000 cc engine. The inline 4-cylinders are long designed to show power from low rpm, as the FZ1.

The difference is that FZ8’s front suspension is not adjustable. Weight is about 30% lighter, but it still appears to be as flexible as its predecessor even at the turning corners on the highway with a speed of about 60 km / h. The engine reaches the power of 105 hp at 10,000 rpm. The 6-speed gearbox help change gear smoothly.

FLEXIBLE METER

On the central roads, FZ8 is quite comfortable and quick to speed up on the empty roads. It takes over 5 km inside the city because of the frequent use of low gear, the speed only reaches 30 km / h, so the coolant temperature is 91oC. Travel on the highway with the same distance, higher gear (2,500-3,000 rpm), free of the engine with an average speed of 60 km/h, so the average temperature is 77 oC. Travel over 50 km, the cooling temperature is stabilized at 91 oC.

Yamaha FZ8 is equipped with dual 310 mm disc for the front wheel, single 267 mm disc for rear wheel. The bike is fitted with the front tire of 120/70 ZR17 and the rear tire of 180/55 ZR17. The total dry weight is 221 kg.
